About the client

We were approached by Andrew to help him develop an online presence in the form of a new website ready for the publication of his first book.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]

The brief

Andrew had begun the process of designing his own website but, after getting a bit stuck, came to us for some help. Andrew wanted a website that he would be able to manage himself once it was built and provided us with a mock up of his idea of how the website should look. Key things included were social media links, events page and a space to post updates including news and reviews.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]

The solution

We provided Andrew with a WordPress website, which would allow him to easily update the information without the need for ongoing support.  The main image on the site was chosen to fit in with the book cover design, which was provided by Penguin Random House UK publishers. Andrew provided the text for the pages and forwarded the fantastic book reviews that he was receiving for us to add to the ‘News and Reviews’.

Use of space throughout the website was a key consideration, as Andrew didn’t want people to have to scroll on the pages. Having looked through other author websites for inspiration and finding none, we settled on making sure that the website stood out whilst being simple to navigate and not overloaded with information.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text el_class=”results” css=”.vc_custom_1486579994169{padding-top: 10px !important;padding-right: 20px !important;padding-bottom: 20px !important;padding-left: 20px !important;background-color: #e8e8e8 !important;}”]

This was interesting project for Tiernan Marketing, as it was quite different to the websites we had created up until then. The resulting website was one which really matched the science-fiction genre of the book and one which the client, his agent and the publishers were all impressed with (the words Pukkah, fab and brilliant were all used – so we’re assuming that’s good!) .

Andrew says “Tiernan Marketing not only designed a website which perfectly captured my aspirations and which attracts awed compliments (and at a very reasonable cost)…” Read the full testimonial here.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
